The Glee Project is a competitive reality show to select a 7 episode guest star to be on Glee. The show had an audition process similar to American Idol. People could go in and sing their selected song for the Glee casting director, Robert Ulrich. When they would leave the room a the host would tell them if they made it upstairs for a call back or if their Glee journey ended there. From the 40,000 people that auditioned 12 finalist were selected to compete for the guest starring role. The finalist each week participate in the Glee boot camp/ master class. They do everything that the normal Glee does and work with the same instructors. During each week finalist have a homework task that they will perform to get them an advantage with end of the week music video that is Glee inspired. The tasks also focus on a quality that Glee holds important. Zach Woodlee, the choreographer, teaches them the dances for the music video. They go record in a professional studio with vocal producer, Nikki Anders. Then after the homework assignment and music video is complete Zach Woodlee, Nikki Anders help Robert Ulrich select the bottom three contestants. The bottom three are given a song to perform at the last chance performance in front of Glee creator/producer Ryan Murphy. After deliberation the call back list is posted and one of the finalist doe not make it ending their journey on The Glee Project.
The show is great for Glee fans to see new talent grow and end up seeing on of the 12 finalist on the show.
The Glee Project air on Oxygen at 9pm. (check your local listings) For those who do not get Oxygen it is on Hulu.
